Overview

• Cup points have a cup-shaped indentation at the end of the set screw s tapered point
• The internal cup grips surfaces, resists deformation and reduces stress
• Cup points work well with soft materials that cannot take high torque
• Square drive types have square recesses and are driven with Crescent wrenches, open-ended wrenches and certain sockets
• They are commonly used in woodworking in limited-clearance applications or when added torque is needed
• Steel is strong and durable but less corrosion resistant than stainless steel
• To improve its resistance to corrosion, it may receive additional finishes and coatings.
