They are used as a mechanical seal or gasket and are seated in a groove and compressed during assembly between two or more parts.|Silicone is a nonadhesive, self-fusing material that is easy to work with. It is primarily used in high-temperature and temporary applications for insulating and moisture sealing. It can be used where long term exposure to dry heat is expected, but it is limited to static applications. It resists brake fluids and high aniline point oil.
