  • Oxide coating prevents chip building, galling and welding on the workpiece It is commonly used on low carbon metals, stainless steel and ferrous metals
  • Regular, also known as medium spiral bits, are used in general purpose applications They are used on soft, nonferrous materials
  • Round shanks with flats are ground flat on three sides for increased chuck grip, reducing slippage and help centering the drill in the chuck They are used with portable drills and drill presses on ferrous and non-ferrous materials
  • Spiral flute reamers are used in blind and through-hole operations They are used to bridge interrupted cuts
